Welcome

Welcome dear viewers! This tiny corner of the world (or rather, web) is owned and operated by yours truly (Marigold, for those of you who don't know me.) This website serves as my personal blog, a little storage center for tiny glimpses into my life. Welcome to the world through my eyes. Angelic Calamity also serves as my literary portfolio, so I will frequently upload whatever creative writing project I am working on at the moment. In addition, I provide a small collection of graphics-- banners, icons, and layouts, which you may find on this website. Anywho, I'd love it if you'd post in the cbox or comment on my blog, and thank you for visiting. ;)

14 Candles on the Cake

I love birthdays; they remind me that my life is, in fact, something wonderful that deserves to be celebrated. So, too, are the lives of everyone around us. Last Wednesday, I officially turned 14, and I was touched by the number of people who remembered me.

As those of you who read my last blog entry already know, I’ve had a pretty crappy week. I got sick, and I didn’t make Level Two in Dance Company. The bad luck didn’t end there, though, because the next day, I got detention. I had forgotten to turn my phone off that morning and it started ringing in the middle of Latin class. Worst of all, the call was just an automated sales message.

So the past few school days had left me violently burnt out. I had myself convinced that the weekend would be a spoil as well. I was wrong!

All those downers that tackled me during the school week left me itching to party as soon as school let out on Friday. A lot of the new girls in my grade are really sweet, and I invited one of them to come home with me that day. We had a really great time– went shopping and then to the football game, where we met some people from other schools, cheered on our team, and just had an overall great time. :)

Then Saturday was my birthday party. :D I had 13 guests, and we all went roller skating for 2 hours. I’ve had skating parties for the past couple of years; it’s one of my favorite activities. I’ve gotten much better at it than I used to be. :P

After the party, Juniper spent the night at my house, and we went to see the high school musical this afternoon. Our tickets were in the back row, but we had such a fabulous time and loved the performance anyways. :)

In the in-betweens of my daily events, I had two separate friends come over, and we goofed off at the house. I’ve had a pretty wild weekend, one that the old me would have dreaded beforehand. I used to prefer being alone, but I’m slowly becoming a much more social person. I’ve been working on trying to be more friendly. xD

I think, especially now that I’m in high school, this is the type of weekend I should be enjoying: parties, friends, fun activities. I have learned that crappy weeks happen, but they’re no reason to tie yourself down. Maybe I’ll think differently when I’m sitting in Saturday School next month, but for now, I’m taking my life into perspective. These bad weeks will quickly turn into things of the past, while good times with friends are what you’ll remember forever. :)
